- Automated driving

EVOMOTIV GmbH is developing a solution for virtually testing driver monitoring systems, enabling manufacturers to offer faster, more cost-effective, and scalable testing. This helps manufacturers comply with legal requirements and drive innovation.
Project Details
Initial situation:
Driver monitoring cameras must not only function reliably to ensure safety systems such as drowsiness detection or distraction warnings – they are now also legally mandated. Compliance with these requirements is crucial for vehicle type approval and the safety of all road users.
However, existing testing methods are expensive and difficult to scale, as they require real vehicles and complex hardware. In an era of ever-shorter development cycles and increasing cost pressures, new approaches are needed to implement these tests efficiently and in compliance with regulations.
Project assignment:
EVOMOTIV develops a virtual test platform that efficiently, flexibly and legally secures driver monitoring systems – without real vehicles or complex hardware.
Implementation:
The solution is based on synthetic datasets and an innovative RGB-to-NIR transformation. This allows for the generation of realistic scenarios with virtual subjects and automated testing – overnight and at the touch of a button. Tools and methodology: Scene generation and automated testing processes.
Solution:
Our platform makes testing scalable, faster, and more cost-effective. Manufacturers can virtually test critical conditions such as fatigue or distraction under varying lighting conditions – without physical hardware. This accelerates development, reduces costs, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
