An alternative drive that does not achieve the required service life due to strong vibrations: EVOMOTIV identifies the weak points and solves the problem.
Project Details
Initial situation:
A customer's alternative drive is exposed to very strong vibrations and therefore cannot achieve the required service life. These vibrations are generated by the conventional combustion engine and cannot be reduced due to the design.
Project assignment:
EVOMOTIV is intended to determine the exact cause of the damage and to test possible remedies. Due to the short remaining development time, a quick and targeted solution must be found.
Implementation:
Analogous to existing vehicle endurance test profiles, a suitable test bench collective was developed and, in parallel, a complete drive test bench was set up. Various vibration measurements with load collectives close to the vehicle made it possible to identify weak points in the entire drive train and to check various improvement measures in tests and endurance tests.
Solution:
With the help of rapid implementation on the test bench, the alternative drive was completely redesigned. Various improvement measures have resulted in the customer's high service life requirements being met.
