Noise and vibrations can have a significant impact on driving comfort. By measuring EVOMOTIV Mercedes-AMG was able to optimize its vehicles.
Project Details
Initial situation:
Customers' demands for today's cars are becoming ever higher. Customers expect a high-quality product that allows them to travel comfortably and arrive at their destination relaxed. Acoustics and vibrations play a major role in this, and are often underestimated due to subjective perception.
Project assignment:
EVOMOTIV was commissioned to carry out vibration and acoustic measurements for Mercedes-AMG GmbH. Special phenomena are to be presented in a subsequent analysis in order to optimize vehicles for customers.
Implementation:
Depending on the vehicle's structural condition and the phenomenon to be investigated, various measurements were carried out (e.g. test bench or road measurements, type of excitation, vehicle condition). After the measurements, the measurement data were evaluated using software from HEAD acoustics or Müller-BBM and the data were compared with the subjective assessment.
Solution:
The evaluations were presented to the customer in presentations and the facts were summarized. Together, solutions were developed to eliminate the phenomenon.
