- driving comfort

Minimizing vehicle noise is a priority in brake development. At EVOMOTIV, we support customers in reducing the noise emissions of disc brakes throughout the entire development process.
Project Details
Initial situation:
Due to the increasing electrification of modern vehicles and the resulting reduction in drivetrain noise, other noises in the passenger compartment are becoming more prominent. This leads to an increasing need in brake development to investigate the NVH properties of the system and to reduce noise emissions.
Project assignment:
EVOMOTIV GmbH supports the customer in this project with the development of brakes and brake components with regard to the coordination of all NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) relevant topics.
Implementation:
For the initial investigation of brake noise, NVH simulations are carried out to identify possible structural influences. Using prototype parts, noise investigations are carried out on component and complete vehicle test benches. The noise-related development and application of the brake is a continuous process that extends from the concept to series production.
Solution:
By evaluating the test bench and simulation results, various remedial measures are generated in constant coordination with pad and shim suppliers and the design department. The solutions are then verified on the test benches and in driving tests until the noise emissions meet customer requirements.
