Strict emissions regulations require increasingly complex exhaust aftertreatment systems. EVOMOTIV supports the customer in the functional development of exhaust gas sensors and tests them functionally.
Project Details
Initial situation:
Increasingly strict emissions regulations in Europe and the USA require increasingly complex exhaust aftertreatment systems. Exhaust gas sensors are required to monitor these systems and ensure compliance with exhaust gas limits.
Project assignment:
The task of EVOMOTIV is to specify and implement software functions according to the customer's requirements and then to functionally test the implemented modules. The software requirements to be implemented are diverse. They range from optimizing sensor control to adapting internal diagnostic functions to completely migrating the functions to new microcontrollers.
Implementation:
The sensor control unit under consideration is part of a complex overall system consisting of the exhaust system, sensor, sensor control unit and engine control unit. EVOMOTIV analyzes the customer's software requirements at the component and sub-component level of this overall system. The requirement is checked for comprehensibility and clarity. In addition, the current situation is shown in a structured manner by clearly presenting the underlying problem, the resulting effects and possible measures. EVOMOTIV then develops concepts for the best possible implementation of the new functions. The subsequent specifications of the software modules to be adapted are model-based. Finally, the newly implemented functions in the system are validated in the laboratory. All steps are carried out in close coordination with the customer.
Solution:
EVOMOTIV helps the customer to optimize the operation of the exhaust gas sensor. The systematic implementation of the software functions in the sensor control unit results in a product that has less impact on the environment, complies with legislation and delights the customer.
