Initial situation:
Strict legal requirements must be observed to ensure the passive safety of vehicles. Prototypes and series vehicles are therefore regularly tested for safety in numerous crash tests.
Project assignment:
Planning, execution and analysis of crash tests.
Implementation:
For planning, the type of test is first determined. Then the measuring points are defined in order to obtain acceleration values from the vehicle. At the same time, the ignition signals of the airbags are measured in order to check the optimal time for the airbag to deploy. After all the measuring equipment has been installed and the crash dummies have been inserted, the crash test is started. The test is then analyzed using a 3D video analysis and the vehicle is photographically documented for optical analysis, and all other measured signals are evaluated.
Solution:
Based on the crash test results, possible weak points are identified and eliminated in order to achieve the best possible occupant protection.
