The complexity of exhaust gas sensors, especially particle and NOx sensors, is continuously growing. EVOMOTIV takes over the application and validation until the entire system is ready for series production.
Project Details
Initial situation:
The complexity of the operating strategy of exhaust gas sensors, especially particle and NOx sensors, is constantly growing. In conjunction with increasingly strict legislation, this results in a greater need for system protection. The expansion of complex exhaust gas sensors, also for gasoline engines, further increases the effort required for application and protection.
Project assignment:
EVOMOTIV is supporting one of the world market leaders in the field of exhaust gas sensors as a development partner. The aim is to put exhaust gas sensors into operation in the vehicle and on the test bench and to thoroughly examine and secure new functions or operating strategies. The applications and validations are independently coordinated and carried out by EVOMOTIV, from preparation to evaluation and reporting.
Implementation:
The overall system, consisting of the sensor control units and the vehicle control unit, is consistently applied, optimized, and validated by EVOMOTIV in the vehicle and on the test bench. In both the passenger car and commercial vehicle segments, EVOMOTIV adjusts the operating strategies of the exhaust sensors individually for various end customers and model series. In this process, the applications are continuously refined by EVOMOTIV within the defined framework.
Solution:
From the first basic software version to series production, various hardware and software generations of the exhaust system are validated through a consistent approach. This serves to ensure that the exhaust gas sensors are operated in accordance with the law. The result is the (exceeding) fulfillment of the targets and the enthusiasm of the client.
